Javaris Stevenson was born in Dalton,GA where he was raised in church at True Gospel Pentecostal, where Suff. Bishop Graham serves as pastor under the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. It is there Javaris decided to make God part of his life at a very young age. Javaris and his family re-located when he was a young boy to Atlanta,GA and this is why he calls Atlanta, GA his home town.
He had served under the leadership of a few Bishops in Atlanta, GA, however his youth ministry didn't start until he made The Tabernacle, under the leadership of Pastor Sam and Jeanne Mayo his home church. He relocated from New Birth Missionary Baptist Church after serving in leadership in the youth department for eigth years. Here at The Tabernacle Javaris is serving under the leadership of Youth Pastor Jeanne Mayo who leads a group of young people each Wednesday of about 300- 350 students averaging ages from middle school up to College. The name of the ministry is Oxygen.
Oxygen not only teaches the word, but it trains and equips students to become stewards and leaders of the word and Javaris is a result of that teaching. At this moment Javaris serves as a Youth Development doing a one year missions internship at City on a Hill in Milwaukee, WI. Here he does program development for youth and serves as a Youth Pastor to the youth durng weekly programs.
Being involved with youth and mentorship since High School, Javaris decided to make Youth Ministry his career. Using his gifts and skills of Music and Theatre Javaris hopes to change the lives of those who need it most.
